In Style: Caged Sandals and OOTD

As I browse my daily feed of fashion blogs on Bloglovin, I've seen so many women wearing caged sandals. Here are some splurge worthy versions to drool over:

Belle by Sigerson Morrison Annie2

Rachel Zoe Monica

COACH Josey

After drooling over Suburban Faux Pas styling of the Nine West Authority heels here and Method Clothe's review here, I was hooked. Must. Have.

And guess what showed up on my front porch this morning?

OOTD and Special Agent Brownie Cake with Strawberry Buttercream Frosting

Yes, it was 9:00 at night, but I was craving something chocolatey. I have this awesome recipe from Trim Healthy Mama called Special Agent Brownie Cake. Would you believe you can lose weight while eating a brownie? Well, you can! But first, my OOTD.

7 For All Mankind jeans
Triple Strand Pearl Necklace

These are almost carb free - no flour or sugar. Now, what's the secret ingredient in these brownies? Black beans!

Get our your food processor and add everything into it.

Add 1 can of drained black beans. 2 eggs and 4 egg whites.
Add 4 Tbs. unsweetened cocoa powder.
Add 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder and 1/2 tsp. baking soda.
Add. 2 tsp. vanilla extract.
Add 2 Tbs. coconut oil or butter and 1/3 cup of ricotta or cream cheese.
Add. 4-6 Tbs. Truvia depending on your sweetness level. I used 5.
After everything is in, blend for 4 minutes.
Looks like brownie batter! Pour into a greased baking pan and bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes.

Now for some Strawberry Buttercream Frosting!
Add two packages of cream cheese and a stick of butter.
Add 3 Tbs. Truvia (add more to taste once everything is mixed).
Add 1 Tbs. strawberry extract (or any extract you like).
Add 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon.
You can add some coconut flakes if you like. I added them in now so the flakes would break down a bit but you can add them in afterwards as well to keep the large flakes whole.

Mix well and adjust strawberry and Truvia to taste.

Yum!

Philly Art Museum and J. Crew OOTD

The nice thing about having people visit is you get to take them to do touristy things in your own town that you don't usually think to do. First off, let's look at the Outfit Of The Day:

// Thrifted Bootcut 7 For All Mankind Jeans //
// Thrifted polka dot scarf //

And here I am at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

They had a special exhibit of Korean art.

This is from the famous scene in Rocky where he runs up the art museum steps.

And now, a few paintings that caught my eye.

Thomas Eakins

Renoir

Van Gogh

Picasso

This one was especially cool. I know enough about Modern Art to get thoroughly weirded out by it, but this one caught my eye instead of turning my stomach. First is an up close view of the painting.

And then from across the room.

Hope you enjoyed my stylish Philly art tour as much as I did!

May 20, 2014 OOTD

I checked my weather app this morning before getting out of bed and saw it should be a sunny 72. Awesome. I had a cute outfit with shorts I had put together previously in my Stylebook so today is the perfect day for it.

May 19, 2014 OOTD

I recently tried out this great app called Stylebook and it's awesome! I've been cataloging my wardrobe and putting together outfits. So much easier than looking through piles of clothes for a match. I know, I know, I should hang everything up or fold neatly in my dresser. In a perfect world, that would happen. Not so much mine. Anyways. I just picked up these cute floral shorts on my last trip to J. Crew Factory.

They were marked down to $12 so I couldn't resist. But I wasn't sure what I could pair with them. Fast forward to my Stylebook epiphany, voila!
